On January 10, 2023, the Town of West Hartford Town Council took a significant step towards safety and sustainability mobility initiatives by adopting the Vision Zero Initiative, aiming to eliminate fatalities and severe injuries on West Hartford streets by 2033. This makes the town the first municipality in Connecticut to adopt such a plan, demonstrating their commitment to safe, healthy, and equitable mobility for all.
