Buffalo, NY – October 21, 2024 –The University at Buffalo (UB) is revolutionizing its campus parking experience with the help of Modii, a leading provider of digital parking and mobility solutions. Through this innovative partnership, UB is implementing two key solutions designed to enhance driver experience for commuters to campus and streamline parking management for administrators.
UB students, faculty, staff and visitors can now leverage the UB Parking Finder, a web app developed by Modii for everyone to access without the need for downloading or sharing any personal information. Using an interactive map, the application displays up-to-date parking spaces and predicted conditions across the North and South campus. Users can personalize their experience by selecting specific permit types, allowing them to visualize the likelihood of finding parking at a certain time of day based on their permit requirements.
Knowing where to park based on specific permit permissions allows drivers to avoid overcrowded areas and receive alerts about parking changes due to events or other circumstances via the web app, in turn eliminating the frustration of circling for parking and ensuring drivers can get to their destination seamlessly.
By working alongside and integrating with ParkMobile, Modii also displays payment information in applicable areas, enabling users to easily find pricing and pay for parking.
Modii's comprehensive platform provides UB parking administrators with a unified interface of parking information, enabling the easy access and adjustment of parking regulations to better serve the UB community. The system integrates all parking data into a centralized dashboard, offering valuable insights into parking utilization and trends to enable effective planning. It also empowers informed decision-making for future events and overall parking management strategies on campus.
Later in the year, Modii will enhance its platform by integrating with ChargePoint and Reddy Bikeshare to display live availability across campus lots. Additionally, UB’s Parking Finder will display real-time shuttle information, to accommodate community members who prefer alternate modes of transportation.
